Last call for the writer’s workshop at Glen Eyrie!

Photo: some of last year’s attendees lounging around in one of the castle bedrooms. And the castle.

I wanted to take a moment to tell you about a truly unique writer’s workshop. It will be held this year in Colorado Springs at the beautiful Glen Eyrie location–and in a castle! The dates are June 14-17, and if you are interested in writing or if you’re writing already, the experience will be one of a kind!

This is not a conference where people are always buzzing around and trying to impress editors and agents. This is a writer’s workshop, where a small group breaks up into even smaller groups and attendees are mentored by published writers who have been in the business for years. Nancy Rue, Alton Gansky, Kathy Mackel, and I have been holding this conference for the past four years, and we do our absolute best to give attendees lots of individual and personalized attention.
For a printable brochure about the conference, visit this link. If you come, bring your work in progress, or an idea you’re eager to work on. You won’t just sit around and listen–you will write and get feedback on your work.
Feel free to tell your friends and send them to this link. I promise, there’s not another conference like it, and Glen Eyrie is a bit like heaven on earth. 🙂

I really want to do this. I have a children’s adventure series idea that is not getting off the ground. But it all comes down to money….

  2. Accidental Poet

I cannot begin to tell you how much this conference has changed my life. Do you know when you sign up for a conference at Glen Eyrie, the staff start to pray for you BY NAME?

    Thank you.

  3. Angela

Thank YOU, Susan! You added a lot of sparkle to our conference! (And I’m not talking about sequins . . .)

  4. Holly

Praying already for a way to come!

PS I posted some pretty cloud pictures yesterday over Pike’s Peak, if you’d like to see them. It surely is a beautiful place God made!

  5. Kay Day

I’m registered and ready to go! Can’t wait. This conference is the highlight of my year!

I will be with you all in spirit this time. Really would love to come, but family comes first this year, and we will be out of town celebrating my daughter’s and her cousin’s joint birthday. Love the photo you took of all of us on my bed last year. What fun the conference was, but there was so much to learn at the same time. I know that this year’s attendees will be thrilled as I was. We’ll miss you, Clyde. And we’re looking forward to meeting a new crew of people at the castle.

I’m standing on tippy-toes, excited I’m able to attend this year. So glad you four offer this. Feel better, Angie.

I enjoyed reading your blog today.
I am still finding my way around blogland….
I always love making new friends..

I am posting about Disney so hope you will stop by.
Each comment enters you for the June giveaway.

Sounds like a wonderful opportunity. I’ll be at a writer’s retreat with my publisher that weekend, but maybe it would be something I could do another year. I love the idea of staying in a castle. I think it would jump start my creative juices–especially since I write historicals–some with castles!
