C.J. Darlington sent me the following link: http://www.alphadictionary.com/articles/yankeetest.html.
I rated 49 percent, “Barely in Yankeedom,” which is surprising, since I live in Florida and am SURROUNDED by Yankees . . . and married to one.
So–do you speech patterns give you away? (Where’s Professor Higgins when we need him?)

I’m “61% Dixie. Just under the Mason-Dixon Line.”
That’s ’cause I come from Southern (said slowly and with a touch of drawl) Idaho.

15% Dixie. Wow! You are a Duke of Yankeedom!
If i am 15% Dixie don’t you think they’d tell me I am 85% Yankee?
Yankee & proud of it!!
I’m 18% Dixie, a Duke of Yankeedom too. Don’t know where the 18% comes from since I was born and bred in the NE …
I’m 100% Dixie! LOL And I was raised in Southern California. I didn’t move to Georgia until 16 years ago. And that was interrupted by 4 years in upstate NY. You’d think I’d have some Yankee in me.
But I took the test and it asked me if Robert E. Lee was my grandfather. ROFLOL I guess I’ve been assimilated.
81% Dixie – WooHoo…. 🙂 Although I’ve lived in Arizona and California, my NC roots have stuck. Now get me to the race track…. 😉
81% Dixie! I’m surprised it wasn’t 100% since I’m a native South Carolinian. Must be all them Yankees infiltratin’ down here, corruptin’ the language 😉
