Writing Lessons from the Front
Anyone can publish a book these days, but not everyone knows the best way to write it.
Angela Hunt, author of more than 150 books, will be teaching an intensive two-day course designed to help you write the novel or nonfiction book you’ve always dreamed of writing. With humor and clear instruction, she will guide you from the “big picture” considerations to the tiny details that will help your work stand out. You’ll learn how to come up with the best idea for your novel, how to use a “plot skeleton” to plot your novel or your life story, how to create unforgettable characters, how to evoke emotions in the reader, and how to edit your own work so it’s ready for a test reader.
She’ll describe the process necessary to get a book ready for traditional publishing (in which a publisher pays you for your book) or self-publishing, where you pay upfront costs and keep most, if not all, of the profit. She’ll discuss books for children, different genres for fiction and nonfiction, and how to earn while you learn by writing for all sorts of publications.
All participants will receive a workbook in which to take notes. Her book WRITING LESSONS FROM THE FRONT will also be available for purchase.
The next WRITE AND PUBLISH A GREAT BOOK will be held February 11 and 12, 2017.
