My friend Deanna just told me about http://www.openlibrary.org. This is a website that aims to have information on every book ever published–and every author. It’s pretty amazing, as it culls information from Amazon.com, the Library of Congress database, etc.
I spent some time last night on my author page at openlibrary.org, then I worked on pages for my friends Jane Orcutt and Lois Leppard, uploading their bios and photos.
It’s an interesting place to browse, so in the future, if you need information on that book you read and loved as a kid, don’t forget to check http://www.openlibrary.org. You should be able to find it there!

Great idea! Their search doesn’t seem to be working right now, though.
I want to look for the book we’re doing in book club,
You’re right, Kay, the search engine isn’t working this morning. It was working fine last night–oops, did I goof it up? LOL!
Anyway–when it’s working, it ought to be very cool. I read this book in fifth grade called “His Best Girl”, and I’ve been trying to track it down. The author wrote about “dives”, and I didn’t know what a dive was. She also mentioned one woman giving a man a “you’re the cream in my coffee look” and I wasn’t sure whether that was a good or bad thing . . .
I’d love to read that book as an adult. 🙂

LOL, cute.
Have you ever looked at abebooks.com? They sell out of print books.
Now the whole site is down! LOL they must not be set up to handle the vast number of Angela Hunt fans. We probably all crashed it.
Sounds like a great & interesting resource!
Oooh I found one on there from my childhood too. The Secret Horse was one of my favorites and I’ve always wanted to revisit it! Thanks Angela!
